What We’ve Been Building at Bone & Blossom (And Why It Matters)

If you’ve been paying attention to what we’ve been doing at Bone & Blossom, you’ve probably noticed—we’re not just showing up as a Tattoo Studio Lombard IL anymore.

We’ve been showing up everywhere. And that’s intentional.

When I opened this space, I didn’t just want to create a place for Custom Tattoo Lombard IL work. I wanted to build something that felt connected to the actual community we’re in—not just the people who already know us, but the ones who haven’t walked through our doors yet.

So we started getting involved. Inside the studio and outside of it.

Tattoo designs on display, for Bone & Blossom Tattoo Studios Flash Event, featuring floral and skeletal motifs. Signs read "Designs Range $200-300" and "All Designs Are $250." A waitlist and pink pen are visible.

The Events Inside the Studio; What We’ve Been Building at Bone & Blossom

What We’ve Been Building at Bone & Blossom, we’ve been hosting events that keep our artists engaged and our space feeling alive.

Flash Days & Walk-In Events

Our flash events have become a huge part of how we connect with people.

We open up as a Walk In Tattoo Shop Lombard IL, put out designs our artists are excited about, and let the day unfold naturally.

These days bring in:

  • First-time clients

  • Regulars who want something spontaneous

  • People who just want to experience tattooing in a lower-pressure way

It’s fast, it’s a little chaotic, and it reminds us why we started tattooing in the first place.

Friday the 13th Events

We’ve also hosted Friday the 13th tattoo events, which are always a completely different energy. Those days are about accessibility.

People come in who have never been tattooed before, or who’ve been thinking about it for years but needed a reason to finally do it. It breaks down that barrier and makes tattooing feel less intimidating.

And honestly—that matters more than anything.

Color Theory Skill Share

On the artist side, we’ve been putting a lot of effort into education.

We recently hosted a Color Theory Skill Share, where we sat down as a team and really broke down how color actually works in tattooing.

Not just what looks good—but:

  • How pigment behaves in skin

  • Why value matters more than color

  • How skin tone affects every decision we make

Because if we’re going to offer strong Color Tattoo Lombard IL work or push more into detailed Neo-Traditional Tattoo Lombard IL designs, we can’t just rely on instinct.

We have to understand what we’re doing.

Showing Up for Lombard (Outside the Studio)

The part that’s been just as important—if not more—is getting out of the shop and into the community.

We’ve been actively participating in local Lombard events, and it’s completely changed how people interact with us.

Lombard Farmers Market

Being part of the Lombard Farmers Market has been one of the most consistent ways we’ve connected with people.

It’s not about selling tattoos—it’s about:

  • Talking to people who are just out enjoying their day

  • Answering questions

  • Letting people get to know us without pressure

A lot of those conversations turn into future clients—but more importantly, they build trust.

LOV’d: Lombard Outdoor Vintage Day

We also participated in LOV'd (Lombard Outdoor Vintage Day), which honestly fits our vibe perfectly.

It’s creative, it’s curated, and it attracts people who already appreciate art and individuality.

Events like this bring in people who are naturally drawn to:

  • Custom Tattoo Lombard IL work

  • Unique, artist-driven designs

  • A more intentional tattoo experience

Lombard Arts & Crafts Fair

At the Lombard Arts and Crafts Fair, we’re surrounded by other creatives.

That’s important. Tattooing doesn’t exist in a vacuum—it’s part of a larger art community. Being present in those spaces keeps us inspired and reminds people that tattooing is art.

Candy Cane Lane

We’ve also taken part in Candy Cane Lane, which is a completely different kind of experience. It’s slower. More family-focused. And it gives people a chance to see us in a way that isn’t tied to tattooing at all. That kind of visibility matters—especially for people who might not feel comfortable walking into a tattoo shop right away.

Lombard Wine Walks

And then there’s the Lombard Wine Walk, which has been one of the most fun ways to connect with the local crowd.

It brings people into the space who might not have otherwise stopped in.

They get to:

  • See the studio

  • Meet the artists

  • Experience the environment

And suddenly, that barrier disappears.

Why I Care About This So Much

I don’t want Bone & Blossom to feel separate from Lombard.

I want it to feel like part of it.

Being an Inclusive Tattoo Studio Lombard IL means more than just what happens inside these walls. It means:

  • Showing up

  • Being visible

  • Making people feel comfortable before they ever book an appointment

Because at the end of the day, tattooing is personal.

And people need to feel safe before they commit to that.

What This Means for You

If you’ve interacted with us at any of these events—or even just seen us around—that’s the point. You don’t have to walk in ready to get tattooed.

You can:

  • Talk to us at a market

  • Stop by during an event

  • Get a feel for the space first

And when you’re ready—whether it’s for Black and Grey Tattoo Lombard IL, Color Tattoo Lombard IL, or a fully Custom Tattoo Lombard IL—you already know who you’re working with.

This Is Just the Beginning

We’re going to keep doing this.

More events. More collaboration. More ways to connect.

Because the goal isn’t just to be a good Tattoo Studio Lombard IL.

It’s to build something that people actually feel a part of.

Bone & Blossom Tattoo StudioRooted in community, built through connection, and always evolving.
