At Bone & Blossom Tattoo Studio, we’re passionate about creating beautiful, lasting artwork but we also care about the mark we leave on the planet. The tattoo industry, like many others, can produce a significant amount of waste. Much of that waste is necessary to protect our clients and artists from blood borne pathogens and prevent cross contamination, which is always our top priority.

But in today’s throwaway, single-use culture, we know there’s more we can do to limit our environmental footprint—and we’re proud to share the steps we’re taking to make Bone & Blossom an eco-conscious and inclusive tattoo shop in Lombard, IL.

Tattooing relies heavily on single-use materials for safety. Needles, ink caps, gloves, and barrier films must be discarded after each client to meet health standards. While these practices keep everyone safe, they also generate waste that impacts the environment.

Here’s how we’re making our studio greener:

• Carton Water, Not Plastic: We’ve replaced plastic water bottles with eco-friendly cardboard carton water for clients and artists. It keeps everyone hydrated while cutting down on single-use plastic.

• Sustainable Bathroom Supplies: Our restrooms now feature Who Gives a Crap bamboo toilet paper—100% biodegradable and sustainably made. Not only is it kind to the planet, but its fun, eco-positive branding fits our shop’s personality perfectly.

• Eco-Friendly PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): Traditional gloves, aprons, and other PPE often linger in landfills for decades. We’ve transitioned to biodegradable and eco-friendly PPE options, ensuring our safety gear doesn’t outlast the clients and artists it protects.
